A Christian Cancer Support Prayer Inspired by Psalm 91

Father, I choose to dwell in Your shelter right now, even though my life feels dangerous and scary. You promise that if I remain in Your shelter that I will experience security and rest in Your shadow. No enemy has more power than You do, not even this cancer. Lord, I choose to rest in Your refuge and in Your strong and immovable fortress or protection over my life. I know that I can trust You in all things, even when I can’t see what You are doing or what You have planned.

I ask you, Father, to rescue me from the trap of hopelessness and distrust in You. I ask You to protect me from the enemy’s lies about what my future holds. I ask You to make Your presence known to me so that I can release my fears of illness, death, and not being here in the future for my loved ones. You are my complete cover, shield, and protection; I know that You will never fail me. I choose to make You my dwelling place in mind, body, and spirit. Holy Spirit, fill me with Your loving and peaceful presence.

In verse 10, You promise to protect me from all evils and plagues. I pray for protection from poor outcomes, severe side effects from treatment, and from the plague of hopelessness. Please protect and defend and guard me in all of my ways as I choose to place my faith in Your plan for my life and Your love for me. Please help me to trample cancer under my feet and have total and complete victory over my health. You have the final word and You hold this victory in Your capable and mighty hands.

I love you, Lord, and I ask You to deliver me from this cancer. Please set my health, my mindset, and my soul in high places; heavenly places where you dwell. Help me to confidently trust and rely on You no matter what You allow in my life. You will never ever abandon me or leave me; of this I am certain! When I call on You, I know that You will answer me, Lord. When I am in trouble, I know that You will rescue me. In verse 16, You promise me a long and satisfying life so that I can see Your salvation…Your saving power that goes beyond all medicine, surgery, technology, and clinical trials. Please let me see that saving day, Lord! I love You, and I thank You for always being present, loving, and faithful.
