In order to use your insurance, you must have a "medical necessity" for mental health counseling. During our consultation or first session, we will determine that together. If you don't meet the criteria to use your insurance, I'll let you know and we can discuss out-of-pocket options (see below).
If you have out-of-network mental health coverage through your medical insurance provider, I can provide you with a monthly super bill so that you can file a manual claim for reimbursement with them based on what your plan allows. You would pay upfront for all sessions. I cannot submit claims to insurance for out-of-network services.
If you pay for your own sessions out-of-pocket:
Fees are based on a sliding scale based on your household net income (take home pay after taxes), the number of dependents in your house, and whether you are a single-income or dual-income household. I do my best to keep my rates affordable for most income levels.
I accept credit & debit cards, Zelle, Venmo, and PayPal.
How my out-of-pocket sliding scale works: Have your total take home pay available, and then look at the sliding scale on this page. The left columns are for "monthly net income", and the columns on the right are for single/dual income and the number of dependents in your household. When you match the left column with the ones on the right, that is your per session fee. Sessions are generally held once per week. When clients are steadily doing better, we can move sessions to every other week, then every third week, then once a month, etc. to transition out of therapy.
Example client: A married mom of 2 young children is looking for individual counseling for herself. Her spouse works, and she is currently receiving disability from the state. Their total household monthly take home pay is $3900. They would be considered a dual income family with 2 dependents. She matches up their $3900 take home pay on the left with the rate in the column for "Dual Income, 0-2 dependents". Her per session fee would be $115.
